About Dr. Tamanaha
Dr. Drew Tamanaha is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology (Palo Alto University), which is an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. He completed his APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Patton State Hospital where he specialized in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of mental health symptoms. After becoming licensed in California, he designed and facilitated in-patient recovery programs to help individuals gain control of their lives. He is a forensic evaluator who specializes in diagnostic clarification and treatment progress. He also provides outpatient therapy services to help individuals improve functioning and achieve their goals.
In addition to assessment and treatment, Dr. Tamanaha has trained and supervised pre-doctoral and post-doctoral psychology students. He taught graduate level psychology courses at Loma Linda University. He provided lectures on diagnosing and assessment at various colleges and universities. He has and currently serves on various executive boards of organizations that serve California. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, The Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse and California Coalition on Sexual Offending.

Dr. Tamanaha’s approach to therapy
Dr. Tamanaha's approach is to meet the client where the client is at, discover the client's goals, find out what are obstacles to the goals, and to utilize the client's personal strengths that can help the client work towards the goal. He uses various researched-based approaches that fit the situation to provide the client with skills. He believes that collaboration and support are important as the client practices the skills. Lastly, he believes in a multi-disciplinary approach and will collaborate with other professionals/specialities per the client's preferences.
