Dr. Baduria’s approach to therapy

“There are many times in life where we may feel that our circumstances or mental health are interfering with our functioning, happiness, or ability to reach our goals. In therapy, we can work together to develop skills to help you cope with difficulties and explore underlying psychological processes to help you heal, gain insight and have lasting change. My approach to therapy is warm, genuine and collaborative. I emphasize fostering a non-judgmental atmosphere where we can explore complex issues in space where you feel safe and connected. I enjoy working with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds as well as the LGBTQ+ community.

I acknowledge that you are the expert of your own life, so I approach with curiosity and tailor interventions to meet your specific needs by utilizing various evidence-based treatment approaches. I draw from Psychodynamic, attachment-based and Cognitive-behavioral theories to implement interventions to help you understand the connection between thoughts and behaviors, re-examine problematic thinking patterns to improve overall functioning, and gain insight into underlying patterns. I have experience providing therapy for a range of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, life transitions, social difficulties, behavioral problems, trauma, psychosis, substance use, grief and loss, sexuality and gender issues, and relationship difficulties.”
